Green Belt development

Project Description: In March 2020, PlanIT were recommended to a client who had breached planning controls by converting a building into a 4 bedroom residential home. The situation was serious and culminated in the local planning authority serving an enforcement notice which set a timescale for remedying the breach by ceasing the residential occupation of the building and returning it to its former planning use. This was a challenging project due to the Green Belt policies and the restriction imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic. Despite these obstacles, we were able to negotiate a successful outcome for the client and the local planning authority resulting in retrospective planning permission in June 2020 and the abandonment of enforcement proceedings.
